It is that time of year when we excitedly await all the gifts we will receive. We spew out “thank you” a million times as we tear at wrapping paper. But after all the excitement of receiving a gift is over, what are you actually grateful for?

Holidays with the family.
The wonderful opportunities I’ve had to experience the world, and the many more that await me in the future.
That my entire family was back for Thanksgiving
I’m thankful that I can finally beat my brother at scrabble (and that I get to spend time with family!)
I am grateful for the opportunity to see students fall in love with ideas, and with the world, and to find their place in the future as it unfolds.
The power of optimism.
Having the ability to recognize the many blessings in my life
Family, friends, having a roof over my head and my 10 page essay due tomorrow.
I am grateful that my family values education and taught me to value it as well.
I’m grateful for the opportunities I have had that others have provided for me, especially the chance to get an education. I am also grateful for my sisters.
A relative who is turning his life around for the better.
I am most thankful for humor, especially the ability to laugh at myself.
I am grateful for my nosy, loud, loving family. I am grateful for the wonderful people that I’ve met over the years. I am grateful for the roof over my head and the food on my table. And I am ever so grateful for my family’s health and well-being.
I am grateful for amazing and dedicated people giving love and care to others not just during the holidays, but year-round.
For memories with family and friends, and the chance to make new ones every day. For being surrounded by comforts, opportunities, and people that I wouldn’t have met had I not come to BC.
